# DNS & Nameservers

> Configure DNS records and nameservers to connect your domain to websites, email, and other services from your EnrolWeb dashboard.

DNS (Domain Name System) is what connects your domain to real servers on the internet. This guide explains how to manage nameservers and DNS records for domains in your EnrolWeb account.

## Nameservers vs DNS records

* **Nameservers** decide which DNS service manages your domain. By default, EnrolWeb uses its own nameservers so you can manage DNS from your dashboard.
* **DNS records** map your domain to specific servers, IP addresses, or services (websites, email, verification tokens).

## Update your nameservers

    Go to **Domains** in your dashboard and select the domain you want to update.

  <Step title="Find the Nameservers section">
    Choose between **EnrolWeb Nameservers** (default) or **Custom Nameservers**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Enter custom nameservers">
    If using a third-party DNS provider, enter their nameservers (usually 2-4 addresses).
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save changes">
    Save and allow up to 48 hours for changes to propagate globally.
  </Step>

## Common DNS record types

    Stores verification, SPF, DKIM, and other text data.

    Delegates a subdomain to different nameservers.

## Add or edit a DNS record

<Steps>
  <Step title="Open DNS Management">
    From your domain settings, click **DNS Management**.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Add a new record">
    Click **Add Record**, choose the type (A, CNAME, MX, TXT, etc.), and enter the required values.
  </Step>

  <Step title="Save and wait for propagation">
    Save the record. DNS changes typically take a few minutes to a few hours to propagate, sometimes up to 48 hours.
